Official update:
My family loved the cake's design and enjoyed its taste (after peeling off the fondant 😂). When my BIL said I should have added the 1709, there was a chorus of "1701!!!"
I have trained them well over the decades! #StarTrek
Still exhausted this morning but happy. 😊

A couple days after my birthday, I've made my own cake (double layer: apricot jam, American buttercream with almond brittle above & all around, dressed in fondant). 😉
I'll celebrate w/ my family later so I'm not eating ALL of this. 😂🤣
It's ugly, misshapen, too sweet but "I maked this". 🖖

Kinda lumpy-looking cake dressed in white fondant that could have been placed more smoothly. Bright-blue fondant cut-outs of Starfleet deltas, tilted sideways, trail along the side of the cake. On top, there is a fondant cut-out of the silhouette of #StarTrek USS Enterprise NCC-1701, in the same color. Dotted around it are silvery sugar pearls, indicating stars.

I know the 32nd century ships have programmable matter that just repairs itself but it be cool to see 24th or 25th century ships with holographic emitters under the hull to have holographic repair crews work on the ship during battle.

Sometimes I wish I was a writer, just because I have a lot of fun little ideas that pop into my head.

I'd have loved to have seen Voyager's EMH use his mobile emitter to walk on the outside of the ship. Maybe to diagnose a spacefaring lifeform in distress, or help a stranded crewman.

American buttercream supposedly works better with fondant than the German custard-butter mix. This is my third go at buttercream and my first at fondant. One of these years, I'm gonna find a good mix... 😂🤣

One of my Trek cookbooks give's them a recipe of mochi cubes with various flavor combinations like strawberry-banana. I'd imagine in the cookbook's universe, the blue are blue raspberry.
