It’s this multiple times a day
They don't even bother to lie badly anymore.
I suppose that's the final humiliation.

God, imagine being driven by unevidenced fears of people you've made no effort to understand, making outlandish claims about who they are and what they do, then stoking those fears in others and making it all worse.

And then making a show about witches with Alice Roberts.

“For all his talk of reconciliation, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s push to accelerate the next wave of nation building has exposed a familiar fault line: when economic ambition collides with Indigenous consent, ambition usually wins,” writes Wendy Kaur. thewalrus.ca/a-subjugation-fi...

“Public expression activities” forbidden in this space

UGH

Found this just incredibly depressing, more than anything.
An easel sign reads, “UCLA

So, over a decade ago, one of the papers, identified the bank account connected to his blog as being in Offaly under Tim O'Keeffe. At the time, it was brushed off as "his friend" by an alleged friend. But he has used the name "Tadgh O'Caoimh" in the years that followed.

Joe Brolly’s crude mysogyny & Ivan Yates “smear campaign” - reminds me of the time that Mick Clifford & others were discussing on Twitter about how women were being too shrill about #repeal & that they should be more composed in demanding basic rights or they’d lose the referendum. #speirgorm

Shoutout to one of my fave tweets ever of all time
Martin Leahy tweets:

“There was a bus going through Béal na Bláth once and the bus driver announced to the passengers, 'This is where Michael Collins died' and someone on the bus said 'Tis a bad bend alright'.”

Q: Why was the person responsible for the Blackwater fish kill never found?

A: it wasn’t anybody’s job.

I talked to the heads of all the agencies involved in the investigation, about why the biggest pollution event in Irish history fell between the cracks.

As a historian, I truly like the "foreverized pastness" part of this. And I agree, on a daily basis we are floating towards a permanent establishment of badly manipulated memories. A plural of nonsense histories. #skystorians

So-called #genAI means the abolition of the future through the proliferation of endless streams of stochastically rendered generic pasts. Having turned large parts of the cultural archive into training data, it now traps us in a foreverized pastness, a 24/7 nostalgia for a past that never existed

How to succeed in business in the #18C #C18th :
1. Obtain government job awarding government contracts
2. Award the contracts to yourself
3. Make sure that when this is noticed you keep the contracts, but get a different lucrative government job, which technically ends the conflict of interest

"Saying the quiet part out loud doesn’t make it brave; it makes it bleak. It teaches [...] campaigners that integrity is a liability and that reputational violence is a sign of savvy. It tells the public that truth is optional, empathy expendable, and that politics is just performance warfare."
