Outlandish claims about communities make me uneasy. It's amusing yet troubling. Scapegoating does more harm than good. To tackle societal issues, we must take a serious approach. #TruthBrigade

What you’re saying is the federal government is ignoring the temporary restraining order that was issued yesterday?

Wonder who’s going to actually do anything about this considering there’s no real mechanism in place to stop this now that the federal government is ignoring the courts openly

Autistic people don’t obey.

Trans people don’t obey.

Disabled people don’t obey.

This is why they come for us all the time.

Taking dark money out of politics benefits workers by increasing transparency & reducing the influence of wealthy donors.
Support prioritizing the common good instead of corporations' obscene profits & billionaires' greed.

Remember: slavery was/is a class issue.

Our experiences as labourers was not just total and utter wage theft—it was the theft of our bodies, our language, our minds, our knowledge, our maths, our physics, our culture, our land, our resources.

It was the theft of our humanity.

We are non-human.

The problem isn't the opening hours, it's the glaring lack of disposable income. You'd think the number of pubs closing down would give the govt a sign, but nooo.

Pub industry folk: What do you make of this?

I'm sure it's not unwelcome but will it make much difference?

My impression is that you're struggling to fill space until 10pm, let alone 1am.

Everyone wants to be a revolutionary until it’s time to be a revolutionary.

There’s also more than one way to be a revolutionary by the way (and no, it’s not the definition you think it is):

The fact that we can’t tell the difference is how embedded of colonial logic has been through the generations and infecting our minds—our souls.

Conflict is not abuse.

Abuse is about power, and using that power to control and harm.

Flattening the two is colonial logic.

Power is currently centralised. It’s who has access to resources to deploy at any given moment. This is not the same as having community and sharing in mutual aid.

White feminism believes solidarity does not have conflict (/or conflict is ignored and silenced).

Black Indigenous feminism believes it is healthy to have conflict and the only way is through with the ability to express our full range of emotions without disposing each other—thus being solidarity.

I know people on here are scandalized that someone might classify a public school teacher as "working class" because she might have a masters or even PhD in education but can we agree it's at least as weird to call the guy who owns the local Wendy's franchise "working class" because he has a GED?

Because it's really helpful for people spending tens of thousands of pounds to live and work in the UK to have the Under-Secretary of State for Migration and Citizenship treat them being left in limbo as to their futures as, basically, a "bit of bantz" with journalists. Give specifics.

Casual reminder that when economists refer to some variation of the 1%:

- Assuming we all have a shared definition of people, the current world population is 8,005,176,000

- The “top 1%” of people are 80,051,760 individuals

Ask yourselves: who makes up these individuals?
Who are the Top 1% - What does it take? - Economics Help
It’s been a good few decades for the top 1%, with big rises in income and wealth. But, what does it take to be in the top 1% by income, wealth, land-ownership and house values? If we look at the metri...

Often in my lectures when I use the phrase “imperialist white-supremacist capitalist patriarchy” to describe our nation’s political system, audiences laugh. No one has ever explained why accurately naming this system is funny.

black text on white background

"As you prepare your breakfast, think of others
(do not forget the pigeon’s food).
As you conduct your wars, think of others
(do not forget those who seek peace).
As you pay your water bill, think of others
(those who are nursed by clouds).
As you return home, to your home, think of others
(do not forget the people of the camps).
As you sleep and count the stars, think of others
(those who have nowhere to sleep).
As you liberate yourself in metaphor, think of others

As you think of others far away, think of yourself
