I think about the threat of homelessness a lot.

As an engineer, we have an ethical duty to protect the public and environment in the infrastructure we built.

But my employer doesn't. And they can fire me and hire someone else with lower standards, and I'll be homeless.

Police in western canada were created to kill or otherwise force Indigenous Peoples off the prairies. Since maintaining white supremacy culture remains the core function of police, it's not surprising that they don't help when Indigenous women are murdered. 💔

Even with adjustments, the warrantless access provisions remain — letting agencies conduct surveillance without proper authorization. That’s unacceptable. The government still hasn’t met the standard of consultation needed. The NDP cannot support this bill.

In 2022, Ken Sim said line item budget comparisons were the cornerstone of his budget policy if he got elected mayor.

Because we have a neo-liberal government, the "action" will be more policing. This will fail, because it doesn't address the core problem of inequality. A guaranteed livable basic income, like MP Gazan and Senator Pate proposed, would actually work.

A Markham man was beaten, had his skull broken, and his eye sockets smashed because of hate.

My heart is broken for his family, but words of politicians are not enough. The govt must take significant & immediate action to stop the rise of hate.

It's pretty standard in politics to make negative comments about your opponent, then return to at least a basic level of professional cordiality after the campaign, particularly members of the same party. Snubbing one of his party members after he won is childish and unprofessional.
