The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

To me skyway has largely represented "drove-in-from-suburbs" crowd to me. I don't vibe with that bunch... So sure - let them have it. It feels too much like a partially abandoned suburban mall for me. And tbh - i have always hated malls. Not my crowd. Even when I worked dt i avoided it.

I'll be honest... I think the skyway does as much to hurt dt Minneapolis as help. I avoid it at all costs - perhaps bc it doesn't make sense for me as a transit user, pedestrian and biker to leave the street level. This map helps untangle it a bit but i still am firmly Team Street Level.

The skyway system is an incredible asset in MPLS and we have to work together to find creative ways to keep the skyways open later! I’m excited about this new digital map and am working on incentivizes for skyway access, events, signage, and targeted approaches to bottlenecks.

I don’t disagree with my neighbors who saw MPD and ICE blocking the street and assumed MPD was helping ICE. I firmly believe MPD has earned that reputation, so if everyone wants to be mad that I skeeted that O’Hara is ICE’s lapdog, stay mad. Fuck ICE and fuck MPD.

I’m shaken, my neighbors are terrified. We live off central and Lowry which is both heavily immigrant and heavily FAMILIES. This is a family neighborhood. There are multiple bus stops in our hood where multiple bus routes take kids to multiple schools.

One neighbor said she saw an agent with a laminated sheet that she assumed was a list. When she looked closer, it looked like a map with highlighted areas. This all leads me to believe ICE will be back.
