You still need to eat
You still need to hydrate
You still need to take your meds
Too mean to live; Darwinian evolution at its finest???
You absolutely do not have to give it to Donald Trump on border security!!
Literally just walking my daughter to school and this insect chose violence
Genuinely... how. And why. Go back to bed, bee.
Managed to get stung by the last awake bee in Seattle this morning

This is a very valid point, and the way to solve it requires creating more solid guardrails against it. Recent SCOTUS doctrines on unitary executive and presidential immunity obstruct solving it, and must be countered and overturned.
One thing that is under-discussed is that the United States can never regain status as a credible counterparty.

Even if we elect the best admin in history, the specter of Trumpian chaos will spook any other country contemplating agreements that need to span different administrations.
Carney: "We can't control the trade policy of the US. We recognize it has fundamentally changed from the policy in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, & it's a situation where US has tariffs against every trading partner... what we we can control is developing new partnerships, including w/econ giants of Asia"

Yeah the modern focus on boycotts is a result of Americans thinking of themselves exclusively as *consumers,* and our politics is entirely about whether you buy Patriot Brand or Woke Brand of a product at the supermarket.
I think it’s good and important to spread the word about companies that are doing bad things and offer people alternatives to those companies that aren’t evil. I also think shouting “cancel that!” “Stop using that!” “Why are you still on that!” isn’t a great way to help ease people’s transitions.

“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

Also @weratedogs.com @darthbluesky.bsky.social help needed here pls.
A family member in Portland Oregon died unexpectedly and left behind a 2 year old husky who is currently on a 5 day hold in a shelter while I try to figure out a way to get her to me here in Portland Maine so that I can adopt her...without it costing All the Money.

Anyone have any ideas?

My partner will quietly say, "Bear sighting," while indicating a tiny human in a bear jacket or onesie.
🚨 ALERT 🚨 It is now officially babies in tiny jackets with ears on the hoods season. Please be on the lookout for babies in tiny jackets with ears on the hoods at all times.

“Every member of Ali's family, including his parents and siblings, have been granted asylum … Ali passed an initial screening, meaning the Asylum Officer found he had a high likelihood of being granted asylum, yet ICE still arrested and jailed him.”
via @humanrightsfirst.org:

Ali Faqirzada, women's & human rights champion + US ally fled Afghanistan in 2021, been waiting for his asylum case to be decided.

On Oct 14, ICE detained Ali just after he had been found to have a viable claim for asylum

I think that one of the things thay threw me off as an adult is seeing brilliant people fall for bullshit. Like, I've always known anyone could fall down a conspiracy rabbit hole, but seeing it happen in your personal life is jarring.
