Chicago Tribune: Greeley, who was born at Illinois Masonic hospital and is adopted, carries a copy of her passport just in case she runs into federal agents.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”

Every now and again I'll stumble across someone here who will clearly be happier if they never interacted with me again (or, in some cases, at all) and it warms me to block them so they can avoid that terrible fate. They deserve their best Bluesky, which is one without me.

Of course it’s not a scam. It’s a valuable experience, for those that choose/need to do it. I leaned information, but also how to think critically. It’s far too expensive, and we know why.
People that say “you can get the same knowledge from YouTube” have never taken a class after high school.

Kinda the greatest experience a kid becoming an adult could have. Great academics, great city, great people. I met lifelong friends and gained life skills. And it was just HOME. I still miss those days, but keep in touch with alma mater in a few different ways.
