Just got this text from my daughter’s school.

On the one hand, his for her school.

On the other, fuck ICE.
LANETHS-Safety is number one priority; we were notified there may be ICE activity in the area. If students would like to remain in the building to wait for safe ride or bus, they are welcome.

Adults will be near the bus stops in case there is a need for support.

NEW: The private jet that flew 10 shackled migrants to an Eswatini prison last weekend is owned by Israeli-American billionaires with close ties to Trump.

It’s oligarchs all the way down.

Important discovery fight taking shape in Kilmar Abrego Garcia's criminal case.

The question: Can the government assert privilege to avoid handing over documents that may be relevant to a defendant's vindictive prosecution claim?

Abrego's counsel says no.

More than half of DOJ attorneys in the office responsible for prosecuting polluters have been pushed out.

Justice Connection member Andrew Mergen told @bloomberg.com, “I’ve seen extensions... filed by the govt saying something like ‘we are under-resourced & so we need more time to reply.'”

Nelson seems to think that sending in the military is justified because the city of Portland issued a zoning violation to the ICE facility for boarding up its windows.

It really can't be said enough: the goal of the "anti-woke" movement was always to destroy social norms against bigotry. And it worked. And there's a whole lot of purportedly "left" thinkers & commentators who helped it -- indeed, it couldn't have been done without them.

They should feel bad.

Due process applies to lots of things, including how the government controls how you can use your land, or whether you can be involuntarily committed for treatment. But apparently some folks are fine with the government doing whatever the hell it wants with no constraints.
izzos.us
This is wrong. "Due Process" is not specific set of things that applies in criminal prosecutions .

It is just "what is the process the govt is required to go through to be able take a certain action against a person."

So yes, criminal due process is different from deportation due process.

Due process right only apply to noncitizens in criminal prosecutions, and illegal alien removal is not a criminal proceeding (Fong Yue Ting v. US; Padilla v. US)
