"30-year-old conservative lawyer and activist who is Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with federal employee whistleblower complaints and discrimination" cancelled his colleague's hotel room so she would be forced to stay with him.

In late July, Paul Ingrassia, the White House liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, arrived at a Ritz-Carlton in Orlando with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didn’t have a hotel room.

Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

It’s either FLCL (Ride on Shooting Star, by The Pillows) or True Blood (Bad Things, Jace Everett).

I think the latter has one of the best opening sequences any TV show ever made, which really sets up the show to disappoint. And I think the show is fine!

Starros and Sbarros!!
danschkade.bsky.social
The Post-Crisis / Byrne era of Superman comics was a period that really pushed the idea of Metropolis being a real-life big city (lots of empty fast food wrappers on the ground, etc) and nobody but nobody executed that better than Jerry Ordway. His DC universe was a place with Starros AND Sbarros

Superman, by Jerry Ordway & Anthony Tollin, from 1991’s Who’s Who In The DC Universe.

Many artists have created splendid takes on The Man Of The Steel. But few can equal Ordway, whose Superman always feels thoroughly authentic and nigh-on definitive.

It’s exciting that Rick Veitch’s final Swamp Thing issues will come out, but that’s under the DC Black imprint, not Vertigo

It might have been a mistake to put this guy in charge of health care

I was thinking about what a judge could put in a show cause order to try to prevent this and I think the answer is “probably nothing, but it might still be worth trying”

Thanks for sharing this

From 404? Yeah. Those excuses were mostly cringe-y. The only one that was worth pausing over was the person who said they got a hallucinated case out of Westlaw’s (I think it was Westlaw) AI product. That at least merits consideration though who knows how credible that account is.
williamlidc.bsky.social
This is the second time I’m aware of, of an attorney putting AI-hallucinated cases in a response to an order to show cause regarding their previous use of AI

We really need to talk as professionals about why this happens. You can’t just blame single bad actors anymore!
lawzag.bsky.social
Yo dog, I heard you like hallucinated citations, so we put hallucinated citations in your response regarding hallucinated citations so you can show cause while you show cause.

At least there were a lot of people doing tons of research, I can’t say where funding stands for that research now.

There are a lot more boys diagnosed with autism than girls, and there’s lots of people doing tons of research on that, and then this guy just goes out and …blames circumcision

lol.
justinbaragona.bsky.social
Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

But I thought, thinking about random anime I like, what about Utena…oh it’s a Dragonball….

And what about FLCL…oh yeah that a a Gundam

Huh….

While I like some of the actors in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series, fuck all of them.

It cannot be made clearer.

If you continue to support the Harry Potter franchise in any way, you are directly funding the removal of trans people's human rights in the UK.
