Trey Yesavage struck out 12 batters and walked none in seven innings of one-run ball in Game 5 of the freakin' World Series.

He also generated 23 whiffs tonight, the most by any pitcher in the World Series in the pitch-tracking era (since 2008).

Here are his dozen strikeouts against the Dodgers.
This offseason has already been pretty wacky. Add in some fascinating Pirates and Marlins rumors and it could be even more intriguing.

Oh hell yeah. There are some great quotes in here from Tatsuya Imai.
Tatsuya Imai brought the "I come to bury Ohtani, not to praise him," vibes in an interview with Daisuke Matsuzaka last night.

The Seibu Lions ace doesn't want to join the Dodgers, he wants to beat them. Thanks to Ayako Oikawa for help translating: www.mlb.com/news/tatsuya...
Ace pitcher Tatsuya Imai wants to 'take down' the Dodgers to win a World Series
When the news broke that Seibu Lions ace Tatsuya Imai was posted, many Major League fans had one question: Would he also want to join the Dodgers? After all, not only is Los Angeles arguably the close...

Brandon Nimmo has been traded to the Texas Rangers, per source. A trade that will also send Marcus Semien to the New York Mets.

"Testing the ceasefire"

That's a hell of way to say Israel broke the ceasefire and mass murdered a bunch of innocent Palestinians.

Still can’t believe that *this* is how the Ducks finished off last night’s win against Vegas.

That game was entertaining as hell.

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Well, that’s a fun wrinkle in this offseason.

Did not have “Ryan Helsley converting to a starter” on my offseason bingo card.

The Ducks beat the Knights in overtime. What a game.

Oh so the Ducks and Knights are going to play THAT kind of game tonight.

I loved this. Luis Arraez is going to make for a fascinating and polarizing free-agent case.
The most fascinating free agent of the winter isn't Pete Alonso or Bo Bichette.

It's Luis Arraez. We finally get to see how teams really value batting average.

On what he brings, and the one very obvious team that should sign him ...

Making sense of Arraez's complex free-agent case
This winter features what just might be the most divisive case we’ve seen for a free agent in years. We’re talking about Luis Arraez, who is either “the best contact hitter alive” or “a below-average ...

Adolis García followed up his huge 2023 postseason with a monster first month of 2024 (.932 OPS, 8 HR in 29 games)

but since then, his ranks among 119 qualified hitters:

.270 OBP (119th)
.377 SLG (106th)
81 wRC+ (118th)

Big game at Honda Center tonight with the Ducks (1st in Pacific Division, fifth in NHL) facing off against the Knights (2nd in Pacific, sixth in NHL).

It’s fun to have meaningful hockey (or sports in general) being played in Anaheim again.

We don't have the salary yet, but I love Phil Maton on a two-year deal (w/ a club option) for the Cubs.

Maton was quietly one of the better relievers in baseball in 2025 (2.79 ERA, 2.84 xERA and 32.5% K rate in 61 1/3 innings).

feels like this part is gonna get lost in people jumping to make fun of the Angels, which by all means go ahead, but there's tons of other material than "doing what every other team does"
For what it’s worth, the Angels would have access to medical records, etc. Grayson Rodriguez just said he didn’t go through a pre-trade physical. That’s not unusual when trading

Not a surprising move but the Rangers have non-tendered Adolis García.

It’s been a rough go for him after a magical 2023 season.
