Throwback to 1st June 2018 in my old garden. Mama & her 2 cubs. I squealed with delight seeing them forage in long grass for scattered peanuts. I miss them but know they are safe & monitored. 🖤🩶🤍 #badger

A further 18 wildcats have been released into the Cairngorms this year 🐾

That brings the total to 46 released by Saving Wildcats, led by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, since 2023.

This is a huge step towards restoring this species to our landscapes ➡️ savingwildcats.org.uk/2025releases 🌄

Wildcat kittens were thought to typically disperse from their mother around six months old 🐾

Since the first wild births to released females in 2024, the team have been monitoring the litters. It's been fascinating to record them dispersing from as early as four months old 🗓

#WorldMigratoryDay theme this year is bird friendly cities, towns & communities. I would love to see more woodlands, large ponds, fruit & berry trees & less light pollution. The wish list is much longer of course.
