I just stood there. What could I say?
Diane went on: “He’s an ignoramus. When it comes to this, you’ve got to take care of him.”

I remember reading about the Edgar Rice Burroughs Plot Wheel (a wheel with general plot developments on it that you could spin if you were blocked). It created bad stories almost by definition, and yet I think I'd trust it to create an interesting transition before I'd trust ChatGPT to do the same.
