This is an example of someone I have very little sympathy for. What little sympathy I have comes from her also being lied to, just like the rest of us. She was fine with Trump being anti-LGBTQ+ because so is she. But now she and her people are the ones Trump is anti.

I prefer being fully grounded in reality. Newsome threw trans & unhoused people under the bus, the latter of whom he actively destroyed their belongings & where they were simply trying to exist. He is against the rich paying their fair share & walked back calling what's happening in Gaza a genocide.
It's good to remain vaguely grounded in reality. So Newsom is a neoliberal democrat with white teeth and a glossy smile. He wants power. He has also to keep some part of the Silicon Valley wunderkinde onside. He is not the answer to anything. But he is not a fascist. We have enough real fascists.

I think we all say/do things that we regret later in life for many reasons. The important thing is learn from our mistakes and be better. Look at our country. We want those who are supporting the vile things our government is doing to change and become better, right? So give people that opportunity.
