Perhaps blaming democrats for everything for years at every opportunity frames conservatives as the good guys by default? Or in a more charitable reading, plays into the false both sideism? There are plenty of real failings we don't need to imagine.

Evan stood transfixed with Luna glued to his side. All of them were passionate, but watching the drummer was something else. It felt almost religious, like a prayer in motion. Her focus so sharp it seemed cut all of the world around him out, as if he alone were hearing her song for all that it was.

When peaceful protests fail to elicit change, violence is the end result. Cry decorum all you want. It wont dissuade the thugs who are excited to put you in the ground. Its exhausting each day wondering which atrocity will push us over the line. And alarming how many folks are not even phased.
