Hungry Ghosts is one of the coolest and most inventive games I've ever encountered. It's an all time top 10 contender for me at this point. I desperately wish that it had been more broadly influential, but at least it remains fascinatingly unique. I obviously recommend Kimimi's article below!

"... I definitely didn’t sign up for Shrödinger’s Sexual Encounter"

Dragon's Dogma 2 dropped the ball in many areas, but to me its strange idea of "romance" felt like a particularly large and conspicuously unforced stumble:

The AI bubble may be about to bust.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

Finished watching King's Game. That sure was an ending...

Opening song is still a banger, though.

Sword and Fairy Inn is hypnotically stressful, utterly charming, enjoyably complex, and a lot of fun:

I want our sustainable future back, where indies can experiment, can grow their community, where we get stories about games stumbling but surging to succes over time.

These stories became rarer and rarer, and now they are an oddity, and that is bad... very bad.

and doesn't need to be..

While I understand people are skeptical of the Steam Machine as being too wonky to make a dent in PlayStation or Nintendo, I absolutely see a scenario in which it replaces Xbox, which does not seem to be difficult at this point.

This thread provides actual knowledge for things that I had a vague gut feeling about -- and many things that never would have occurred to me -- about the more affordable Japanese PS5. But Japanese Gen Z playing 3DS more than PS5 illustrates how much of an uphill battle *Sony* faces at home.
It brought a younger audience who hadn’t looked at a PlayStation in over a decade back, but there lies the problem

It’s been true for a few years but was reaffirmed in the industry report this year, but young people do not care for PlayStation. At all

That's not what the workers call it though. They have another couple of words they prefer to use: union busting.

Very cool article by @faroukk.bsky.social.

A number of games made use of StreetPass features too, like speeding up rebuilding Norende in Bravely Default, or coins for steps that could be spent to revive yourself in Shin Megami Tensei IV. I miss things like that, too.
With the loneliness epidemic on the rise, we could use the Nintendo 3DS's StreetPass feature and the sense of togetherness it fostered more than ever. @faroukk.bsky.social on the decline of physical community in gaming:
