It’s always the drivers, and always will be. Even when the driver is flawless their trip will still suck more than that of people who have decided to be more conscious and involved in their community and spaces they occupy. Inherently that dictates not driving isolated in a metal box. 🤷🏼‍♂️
In the 2 months since the counter was reset, nearly 650,000 cycling journeys along here, averaging about 9,700 trips a day.

Cycling has increased by 12% since last year, 1,500,000 daily journeys, a 43% rise from 2019.

Those who complain about congestion are the ones driving

A few things American society has horribly wrong with negative effects that plague us today and we just turn a blind eye.

1. Waking kids up to force them into classrooms at an unnecessarily early hour that does NOT fit well to human rhythms.

What’s a good bike friendly hotel option in downtown LA?

Ran my stats on Seattle for 2025.

My average speed in the suburbs was 14.4 mph via bike, average driver's speed is ~9mph.

My average speed in the city of Seattle (and Bellevue) is 11.6mph via bike, average driver's speed is ~8mph or less.

That's for ~4000 miles this last year by bike.

America putting most of its eggs in the generative AI basket, China going hard into green tech. When history looks back on this period, someone is going to look awfully stupid.

With ICE and border patrol goons spreading out across the country, I put together a resource guide for buying, printing, and distributing whistles, based on my own experience. Now is the time to whistle up, hope this helps. dansinker.com/posts/202…

W T F.

So what lunatics (yeah I know) at the CDC think it’s not. Then NOT causing autism is exactly a fucking evidence-based claim. This timeline is so ridiculously bad. 😑
CDC has overhauled its website to assert that “the claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim”

when I was young, i used to wonder how people like this would fare in life, as they didn't seem suited for gainful employment. it turns out, the internet allowed them to accumulate a massive audience of similar idiots, enriching them and turning them into a presidential advisor

Friends, I'm trying to purchase some Arduino kits for my engineering classes. If you're able to either purchase or share, I'd be so appreciative!

I was just looking through some old blog posts at events like Kubecon and such. So many ppl had Twitter accounts, notable people, that really helped drive communication at events and across different realms in the tech industry. Twitter had been massive in bridging conversations & connecting ppl.

Why so many of us aren’t there. Gone forever is the benefit it once was to society. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyone with a moderately functional grasp of reality knew this would happen to. Everything Trump touted equaled higher prices and less world stability. All while trampling Constitutional rights people in the United States are supposed to have.

Madness.
US President yesterday: "I don't want to hear about affordability."
I learned long ago - document, document, document. 💁‍♀️

(Federal family though, so no Thanksgiving dinner for us this year because Trump is in the Epstein Files & 2025 is all fun.😠)

Architects Evolving: How AI Is Reshaping the Role
The role of software architects is evolving significantly due to AI integration. Instead of merely managing complexity, architects must now shape how AI understands design. This shift transforms their responsibilities from gatekeeping to curating adaptive systems, emphasizing collaboration between humans and AI. Future architects will focus on embedding architectural intelligence and ensuring continuous learning and adaptation in software development processes.

Hi All, let’s meet at Gas Works Park for Coffee Outside this Wednesday (11/5). If it’s raining the spot in photo is nice. If we luck out and it’s dry the tables by the trees is a nice spot too.

7am as usual. All are welcome. Spread the word.

Just looking at & remembering pre-COVID era (ya know, 2020 and before) and I’ve come to some fairly harsh conclusions.

1. As a society, the United States got hellishly dumber and more bigoted/hateful among a very particular ~33% of the population. Unable to process or comprehend data effectively.

Just assume all online shit is backdoored unless you wrote it. That’s what I do. But also, my apps that an extremely small number of people will ever use are probably compromised too.

So just stay paranoid! 👍🏻
If you think that Signal is an op and totally backdoored, my recommendation is that you should plan all of your crimes over Telegram group chat.

Every time when I'm fortunate enough to end a conversation with "Slava Ukraine" (слава україні) I feel like it means so much more, it also means - to me - NO KINGS, NO DICTATORS, NO FASCISTS, to freedom, to liberty, and for humanity itself!
