Pirating discourse is making the rounds again, and I'll say the same thing I say all the time: No one is entitled to the labor, creative or otherwise, of anyone else.
The problem isn't that there aren't alternatives to pirating, the problem is folks don't care who they hurt with their theft.

Just goes to show how shot my memory is. There WAS a thing like this, but it looks like updates to BS broke it/changed it and made it too difficult to keep up.
I'd love an option to just hide posts that contain images without ALT text. Is that a thing anyone knows of?
For those who just occasionally can't use it due to low spoons, it would only mean only a few of their posts are hidden, and for those who never use it, well... sounds like a "them" problem.

Heaven forbid we cost the economy, especially when U.S. insistence on constant consumerism of electronics and tech (among other things) continues to destroy the global south.
I'd gladly harm the economy if it meant we stopped funding genocides and slave labor. I feel like that's a solid sacrifice.

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I get boycotting Amazon. I think we should, but quote-skeeting disabled, BIPOC, and/or queer folks who are showing their books for sale on Amazon with ZERO intention of promoting their non-Zon wares, you're being part of another problem.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.
The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

There are also a lot of electronic resources you can use through your local library or sometimes through statewide services.
Libraries are the bees' knees.
They have SO MANY resources.
