I think folks are really hung up on this because Martial Law is Bad (true!!!) but like, the fact that he's just sent untrained thugs with military weapons and zero oversight into cities with no legal pretext and is defending them murdering folks means we're on a different scale of bad already.

What is currently going on in Minneapolis is far past the 'what if he declares martial law' hypothetical for the practical impact it is having on people's lives. (And deaths.) They are going door-to-door, sometimes kicking those doors down, demanding papers on the street and shooting folks.
So we’re all clear that Trump is escalating ICE raids so he can trigger retaliatory violence and then declare martial law to interfere with midterm elections, right?
