also the nice thing about learning how to do something yourself is that no one can take that skill away from you. but if *all* you know how to do is write a prompt and hit generate, you’re relying on infrastructure that can be restricted/censored—and tech companies that can go bankrupt—at anytime.
*required like… if the government requires AI verification or some shit like that that you literally can’t opt out of.

time to brush up on our writing, creative, and critical thinking skills, folks.

Re-upping this. At least one attempted abduction was stopped this morning by bystanders with whistles.

Organize your community, and show ICE how cold Minnesota can be.
This morning we know that the Twin Cities are on edge.

Carry your whistle, be ready to respond.

Organize with your neighbors- your building, block, or neighborhood.

Together, we can help keep our neighbors safe.

Love to everyone out there protecting our community.

it's worse than that: the machines could crank out a larger volume of shittier cloth *and* didn't require a lot of training to operate

so instead of paying the same workers the same price for more cloth, they got a bunch of orphaned kids to work the machines
An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

Remember the recent middle-of-the-night apartment building raid where children were dragged outside naked & zip-tied in the street while black & Latino residents were _sorted by race_ and piled into separate vans while their apartments were ransacked & robbed? That raid? So it resulted in 0 arrests.

Where’s the restroom? Minneapolis needs more answers
Businesses can’t take on the entire burden. The city must invest in a network of free, accessible and well-maintained public restrooms.

Here we see my local Democratic parties teaming up to run a food drive. And on the DNC's website, they're just asking for money, like always, instead of, saying, asking for money for food banks, or showing a national map of party-run food drives. What a squandered opportunity by national Dems.

Today is an absolute rebuke of anti-transgender politics, and a real sign that the anti-trans panic is fading.

From VA Gov to Loudoun County to New Jersey to New York City and Pennsylvania, anti-trans Republicans are falling left and right.
Democrats are currently ahead in 63 (!!!) races in the Virginia House of Delegates.

If this holds, it would be one of the largest state legislature swings in the last 4 years.

Its an absolute bloodbath for anti-trans Republicans.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

I’ve got $50 on it! Can anyone match me?
