We have seen too many cases of
1. Highly educated folk starting to believe LLMs are sentient.
2. Folk with no prior mental health issues becoming delusional.
3. Prrofessionals becoming reliant on it to do things they could do better.

Fun fact: deaths due to overdoses of all kinds massively decreased after it became required to write prescriptions more unambiguously, numbers spelled out, etc. Making it harder for mistakes to happen in between prescribing and receiving the prescription, saved countless lives.

A disturbing story.
But also, this article made me wonder whether many of the AI fetishists I meet on social media have spent so long interacting with chatbots they no longer know how to respond to even the mildest of criticisms. Because their reactions are disproportionate, explosive and vicious

WOW. Remember this May video of a US citizen wrestled to the ground by ICE agents and detained for an hour despite having a valid REAL ID?

It gets worse. Two weeks later, ICE did it AGAIN — handcuffed him and detained him for 20 minutes despite his REAL ID. Now the Institute for Justice is suing.
