I'm not sure there's a more thankless job in major American sports than being the managing director for USA women's basketball. A recipe to get zero credit whenever the US wins and only succeed in pissing off various sections of fans when popular players are omitted from the final roster.

Colorado football’s problem has always been that they’ve been diametrically opposed to what the institutional culture of football is in the Midwest/mountain states.
CU’s vibe is not Kansas State as a university.
But the regional football culture is *much* closer to K-State than, say, UCLA.
