I want every human being on the planet to have free food, shelter clothing, medical care and higher education. I want every human being to be able to live freely in gender, religion, sexuality et al. Every vote, every government policy, every political decision I make is weighed against these goals.

So many friends & even experienced authors like Scott & Kristine Rusch have walked away from MRM's explotative contracts, I have no qualms saying, despite the excellent editors, I won't be sending any stories their way until they fix them.

As a long time romance reader, I agree so hard.
Contrary to popular belief, romance authors are damn fine writers at some of the most difficult things in craft. Characterization, tension, believable relationship building, for example.
We can tell when you just want our money & don't appreciate it.

Romance should evolve, but its so clear when people want the shine and financial benefit of Romance without respecting the genre, its conventions, or the readers. It's disturbing, but not surprising that we've arrived in a place where CRAFT DOESNT MATTER is a thing people believe.

Sigh. It has already been a long week.
So what happened was, in one day, I had several things happen that messed with my mental health, the worst of which was my dad having a suspected heart attack.
He's doing well, no more pain, but he's already had a triple bypass, so the hospital's keeping him for a week.
I could use positive vibes.

Our fishermen constantly drift over and go back and forth. Intentionally and by accident. Normally our coast guard's main job is to look out for fisher folk in distress.

Honestly...tell your government(s) to stop using Amazon Cloud Services instead of harassing authors if you really want to do some good.
Also push for more regulation to prevent monopolies and tax your billionaires.

If you live in what they call the global south now, it's also the only company providing ebooks in many countries.
Kindle ebooks are the best option for affordable, current SFF, romance etc in my country. Most booksellers here don't do indies, only a few mega bestsellers & libraries aren't current.

The truth is that many of us are "wide", meaning we publish on every available platform, as well as Amazon. But readers do not buy on those other platforms.

In Trinidad lots of people can be your aunt!!! We also call our parents cousins aunts and uncles. An older woman who is a family friend and has been there all the years is your auntie. I refer to myself as auntie age now.

Unpopular Opinion: The original Star Trek, ST:TNG, Voyager & DS9 were peak Trek.
