The only centrism I care for or want is the perfect blend of grindcore and yacht rock.

Oh, it's transmed discourse weekend again? How quickly it rolls around each month, and commiserations to whichever one of us about to get bullied off the website, I guess.

All these people insisting he only voted like this because of an aipac bribe know nothing about Long Island politics. Aipac is evil. But not everything is a zionist conspiracy. Some people are just evil all on their own. Freaking google his long record as a local elected. Look at his transphobia!

Long Time Long Island politics observer: Tom Suozzi voted like this because he worships cops. He'd vote for gestapo even without Trump & he'd do it without aipac dollars. This is what he believes.

Once again kids, even if that vote means that you or the people you love will be liquidized, that's just the cost of doing business, sorry. The idea we could not put people in the blender and maybe you shouldn't vote for that even if the other guy has a larger blender is selfish purity politics.
You are the first to ask, I hope in good faith: I am referring to the demand that a candidate line up perfectly with every issue I care about, or else, and fuck everyone who will be hurt if I help elect the candidate who is promising to hurt them. And I take zero responsibility for the consequences.

You might think ALL CAPS for sixteen pages would do the reader's head in and make you look like a moron, even if you were just announcing a new logo and some shit posters around the office, and you would be correct.

This is a key consultation and there is only a week left. If you haven't read the excellent work by @kevinguyan.bsky.social on how abuse of data standards is used to exclude us from public life, it's at doi.org/10.1080/0958...

Please respond if you're able and get others to do so if you can.

I only link directly to The Guardian when I think something deserves the clicks and this is worth reading if you don't yet understand some of the mechanisms by which finance is used to oppress marginalised communities, entirely legally and at the state's request.

I just want to remind people that when we talk about creating a "British ICE" and a concentration camp as somehow copying America, we already had the previous Tory government set up a concentration camp run by British military personnel for asylum seekers rapidly shut down after legal battles.
The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Goose is absolutely correct.

Mahmood said the other day in interview with Blair their dream is to construct the panopticon. It is why Blunkett and the others have banged the drum for ID cards for so long.

The only thing they don't like about this plan is that someone else gets to do it.
All of this has also been mooted by the Labour Party with the possible exception of the camp; they think it is more sensible to use our existing network of military bases that have been ruled unsuitable for human life.

Obviously I am not going to be mean to the internet labour cat, but you simply do not have to hand it to The Atlantic. A very orange moment.

Mall is right and it's doubly weird because I guarantee you they've watched "First Blood" even more often than I have.
25 years since the war on terror started we have a lot of military documentation on how this works out even for an occupation power with vastly higher resources than the subjugated population.

It works out badly and gradually becomes untenable.

I am 95% certain there is a scandal in the making in the Manchester area social housing sector around tenders. Can't say a lot at the moment, but there is definitely some jobs for the boys stuff that has come across my eyeline of late.
Taxpayers funds for building "affordable homes" in Manchester getting appropriated to subsidise private luxury tower apartments for tenants above the median wage where the tenants also don't really own the property they are told they're buying but are responsible for maintenance is not left wing.
