I live in a red state (MO) and the hardest part is knowing many people around me are going to actively choose various officials and policies that will impact and HURT people I care about, possibly including myself. As a deeply empathetic person, I don't understand. I can't understand. Sux.

Both little glimpses into tiny, seemly insignificant (to my reality) struggles gutted me to the point i’m thinking about them both, hours later. I’m a helper. i want to help. But all the problems of the world and this country and the leadership and all the pain, big and small, it’s just TOO MUCH.

It’s reallllly a tough time to be an empathic person in the world. Saw a loose dog as i left work today. Tried to follow‘em, but worried he’d run from me into traffic. Then as i got off highway, saw a man with luggage, sitting on the ground in our not walker friendly hood, seemly in despair.

After the first big snow of the season yesterday, my rooster Wookiee Foot was lookin handsome at sunset tonight. He was pissed when i grabbed him to rub vaseline on his comb and waddle to avoid frost bite.

I’m in KCMO and we had our first real snow yesterday. Cruised around the most REDICKULOUS lifted truck spinspinspinning his back wheels at a stoplight in my little front wheel drive SUV. Get some weight in the back, buddy!!!!
