If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

There seems to be some *confusion*
among Reform supporters over Nathan Gill being one of them

“But, but, Reform didn’t exist when he took his Russian bribes”

“But, but he was in UKIP”

“But, but it has nothing to do with Farage, he barely knew the guy”

So here’s a little history lesson 👍🏼🧵

Nathan Gill, Reform's leader in Wales at the last Welsh parliament election, has pled guilty to 8 bribery charges, taking Russian cash while he was one of Nigel Farage’s MEPs to speak in favour of Putin's Russia in that parliament

Just realised (ok, I’m slow) what the playbook is here, I know we bang on about polarisation and culture war but it’s absolutely the same model as America - divisive act, arguable court case, valorising of defendant. Next step is she’s guest speaker at Tory conference.

Can't wait for the ITV drama about Lucy Connolly, a innocent woman guilty of nothing more than committing the crime of inciting racial hatred.

Despite the horrific atrocities of the 20th century we just didn't learn. Never again wasn't a statement of fact, it was a mission. And we are failing. Fascism is on the rise again, a genocide is being openly perpetrated, and we are taking the side of the people behind it!

Okay. I'm always wary of this kind of article because they always, perhaps inevitably, buy into a Gwynedd dominated narrative of national struggle to unify the Welsh kingdoms into a single pan-Wales state.
And I have a few problems with that...(long thread incoming lmao)

With considerable (unprecedented by Welsh standards?) media attention on next year’s #Senedd election, in particular the potential Reform result, this is an interesting piece on the lessons for Reform from UKIP’s… experience after it won 7 AMs at the 2016 Welsh Assembly election

What Can Welsh Populism's Past Tell Us Of Its Future?
As Reform UK look set to make substantial ground in the 2026 Senedd election, it is important to look back at the last time the populist-right made Welsh in-roads
