Oh god... who broke it this time? And should we be surprised?

This isn’t a peace plan. It’s a ceasefire. Why is the media calling it a peace plan?

Yeh, Janet Mills just looks like more of the sort of dominant Democrats who have forced the party to such a low ebb. Chuck Schumer is not the leader to have in this age of Trump. Graham Platner looks the better choice.

If you want to know what kind of Senator Janet Mills might be, remember that she's running as Chuck Schumer's preferred candidate and with his full backing.

Should she win, we can expect more strongly worded letters, hoping really hard for Trump to do the right thing, and AIPAC calling the shots.

"Together, the messages reveal a culture where racist, antisemitic and violent rhetoric circulate freely — and where the Trump-era loosening of political norms has made such talk feel less taboo among those positioning themselves as the party’s next leaders."

Can't call them fascists?

Good, we need tax rises... the problem is, will Rachel Reeves put them on the wealthy or not? She has shown too much of a priority with taking the side of business.

Oh, the far-right are pretty antisemitic themselves, but they get a pass by the establishment when they do it. You don't see Douglas Murray condemning Viktor Orban!

Should we really be that surprised about the US media? It has pretty much been taking Trump's side all the time. And yes, they usually take the side of Israel, and refuse to call out their war crimes. bsky.app/profile/call...

I don't know enough about David Frum, but this doesn't surprise me about Douglas Murray, who is a proud white supremacist and Islamophobe, who gleefully backs Israel for its anti-Arab policies.

Pretty much. The far-right's idea of free speech is we should be able to say whatever we want, but nobody else should. They can tell lies and incite violence, but any criticism of them should be shut down!

The guy who threatened Nigel Farage has been sent to jail for 5 years for a Social Media post.

There will of course be dead silence, or cheers about this from the 'Free Speech' brigade.

Well yes, Labour should be blaming Farage... but it's too little, too late. The media has now latched onto Farage as the real star of British politics and is constantly amplifying him. He controls the narrative, especially as Labour basically keeps following his policies!

Brexit is Farage and his fellow Brexiters' shitstorm to own. He/they can't be allowed to just pivot from heckle to heckle and bad idea to worse - while blaming everyone else - without consequences.

So the suggestion that Labour are going to amplify that truth is to be welcomed.
callidusdominus.bsky.social
But instead most political commentators prefer to excitedly go on about how wonderful Farage is with his bold new ideas to do... something. They like the instability and 'excitement' rather than actually doing their damn job!
callidusdominus.bsky.social
Labour will imitate the policies of the far-right, then wonder why suddenly the left don't like them. They are trying to win the support of voters who won't vote for them anyway. They legitimise the far-right's scaremongering about immigrants rather than going after the rich. More Blue Labour crap.

every single political commentator,

should be talking about FPTP.

how it doesn't represent you.

how it can be hacked (for good, and bad)

it's relevance when talking about how the parties compare, how we _should_ vote

and how to fix our election system for good, with Proportional Representation.
