For every post or comment or like about how much you hate what the Democrats aren’t doing or your social media calls for them to DO SOMETHING…

PICK UP THE PHONE, CALL THEIR OFFICE AND TELL THEM THAT.

They aren’t reading your posts or watching your videos.

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

DISCUSS SUICIDE WITH CHATGPT

EVERY *WEEK*

what the fuck are we DOING here
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

If you voted for Trump I want you to understand that this is what you enabled. This is what you brought upon our communities, including your own.

There’s a way out of this, but it involves you repudiating this and actively working against it and this administration.

Body cams apparently show Border Patrol agents joking about tossing tear gas at a nonviolent protest, with one agent saying "Hey, throw it [tear gas] for fun."

Agents then tried to drive away, but there was apparently so much tear gas they were overcome, couldn't drive, and had to leave on foot.
A Border Patrol agent was caught on video telling another to throw tear gas “for fun,” according to a court filing. They also mocked protesters and residents who were getting gassed.

Ugh. No good. I’m sorry, Lex! This is a huge loss, but I’m excited to keep following and see what’s next.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

If they’re beating white men like this in the middle of the street in broad daylight with cameras going, imagine the horrors they inflict on our Latin American community members behind doors.

Absolutely appalling. These agents and their enablers belong in prison.
Here’s a disturbing video from Evanston of a federal agent hitting a man on the ground as people yell that he can’t breathe.

"Not enough people are starving" is a hell of a message.
Brooke Rollins: "I guess the silver lining in all of this is that we're having a national conversation on our SNAP program. This has shined a light on a program that especially under the last administration has just become so bloated."

I’ve said this before but white guilt is useless. I don’t want people to feel guilty for things they had no part in, and guilt easily curdles into resentment. But everyone regardless should feel an obligation to correct injustice, especially if you somehow benefit. bsky.app/profile/mich...
I found this piece sad too, but mostly because it is part of a years-long effort by progressives to understand what "really" animates Trump voters.

We already know! It is racism, misogyny and misinformation. I know that sounds condescending or whatever but it's simply what all evidence suggests.

JD Vance has never met a union he hasn't wanted to bust.

Diversity makes us stronger.
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

Folks who were there on the ground dispute this, saying she never laid a hand on the officers.
Morning CM. Just some add’l context on incident. MTPD was doing regular fare enforcement (IRS is on federal Taskforce & sometimes supports MTPD). An adult female was caught fraudulently using a Kids Ride Free card then punched an officer in the face. She was arrested for assaulting a police officer.
I was on the ground earlier today at the Petworth Metro Station after I received troubling reports from neighbors about IRS Criminal Investigation agents working with Transit Police to interrogate riders on WMATA buses.

This Admin will spend $millions$ to do a military flyover but:

- won't pay federal workers
- won't pay air traffic controllers
- are going to let poor kids starve
- will allow health care costs to skyrocket, in some cases 500%

Got it.
They’ve done at least four circles, I captured them going over DCA again.

It’s not even enough for a full paycheck for the US military. Which is insane on so many levels, but also shows that it’s only the US Government being open and functioning that’ll allow troops and Fed workers to be made whole.

Republicans need to come to the table and negotiate on health care.

What's he going to do next, tear down the White House and put up a Trump Hotel?
Q: Can the president tear down anything he wants without oversight? Could he demolish this building or the Jefferson Memorial?

LEAVITT: Only for vertical construction will a submission be required.

Q: So it sounds like the answer is yes

Health care costs are skyrocketing.

Children, seniors and families are going hungry.

Troops are going without pay.

The government is shutdown.

Trump's "main priority" is his gold-plated palatial ballroom.
Leavitt: At this moment in time, the ballroom is really the president's main priority.
