(Sorry for the messy quote thread, I really do recommend you go read the study!)

"Instead, the literature indicates that transgender personnel contribute effectively across military roles, and that challenges often arise from stigma and discrimination rather than from their inclusion."
February 11, 2026 at 7:55 PM
"This scoping review found that research from civilian, military, and governmental
institutions provides consistent empirical evidence refuting claims that transgender SMs undermine readiness, cohesion, or impose undue financial burden."

"According to [SMs], access to affirming care is linked to improved psychological well-being, reduced dysphoria, and better occupational
performance [...] Studies found that
administrative inconsistencies, fear of career repercussions, and confidentiality
concerns [ ..] discourage care-seeking
February 11, 2026 at 7:53 PM
"17 studies (29%) examined the workplace climate for [trans] personnel. Many [trans] SMs concealed their identities due to fears of discrimination or discharge[...] Experiences of outness ranged from supportive commanders and peers,
to exclusion, harassment, and enforcement of discriminatory norms."
February 11, 2026 at 7:52 PM
"More recent studies document elevated psychological morbidity, including
depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicidality, as well as higher odds of experiencing
sexual and stalking victimization compared to cisgender peers"
February 11, 2026 at 7:50 PM
"Twenty-two studies (38%) reported on the mental and physical health of transgender
SMs. Early work described pervasive concealment, hypervigilance, and psychological strain during eras of exclusion"
February 11, 2026 at 7:50 PM
"Twenty-two studies (38%) reported on transition-related healthcare access and
utilization among transgender SMs"

"Studies found that
administrative inconsistencies, fear of career repercussions, and confidentiality
concerns continue to discourage care-seeking"

This review included 58 articles, of which

"38 (66%) were peer-reviewed, 11 (19%) were non-peer-reviewed reports, and 9 (16%) were doctoral dissertations. Data were primarily collected between 01 July 2016 and 11 April 2019, using quantitative methods during open transgender service"

Thank you to author Kati McNamara, for publishing the study in full on her website for free download! (This is the link in the original post). I will be quoting some relevant details in this thread.

A systematic review of all research on transgender military members was just published this week. Of course, the conclusion was that trans service members don't undermine readiness. They contribute effectively - stigma and discrimination are the problem. mendingmedics.com/my-research/

Crockett: "The US is falling apart, partially bc he's allowing for killings in the street, but also bc we have a 34 count convicted felon being shielded from any type of accountability as it relates to a child sex trafficking ring. I don't understand why we're pretending any of this is normal."

ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

On paper, they are eligible for benefits from the VA, but there are many obstacles.

I didn't have the characters to provide an opinion in my initial post on this. Obviously, blowing up boats and murdering their occupants while claiming they're drug runners is an insane thing to do.

The CG has been conducting drug interdiction for decades without resorting to just bombing boats.
