I’m very familiar with determinism and Sapolsky’s work and very much work from a deterministic framework. Determinism does not magic away our moral lives - but provides very a framework to examine them in greater, more holistic context.

What I thought would solve moral injury:
-Working harder
-Caring less
-Quitting my job

What actually leads to healing:
-Connecting with others who share my values
-Making tiny choices that align with who I am
-Seeking moments of ethical clarity amid the chaos

We can't fix broken systems alone.

My partner grew up in Clear Lake, IA. Had prom in the Surf Ballroom. I’m sure the Ballroom is only still standing because of Holly, Bopper, and Valens’ untimely deaths & later Don McLean keeping the event culturally relevant.

Thankfully Waylon Jennings and Tommy Allsup didn’t get on the flight…

This is all predictably a chaotic, uncoordinated mess, and shows why restricting vaccines to people with certain conditions when the vaccine is perfectly safe is so harmful to public health - it makes it unnecessarily complicated to make a vaccine appointment which decreases uptake.
