A poor person rang our doorbell. I ran home to lead a post-Ferris Bueller screening discussion about inequity with my twins, Carnegie and Ophelia. Then we tucked dollar bills into copies of Atlas Shrugged in our Free Library. I don’t have ALL the answers, but we do have a great college essay topic.

Jeffries giving the finger to Mamdani the day after Mamdani asked the NYC DSA not to support a primary against him is worth remembering. He went out of his way to insult him for a no reason-- not the move of a trustworthy or intelligent politician.

I’d like to please juxtapose Jill Lepore’s complaints about how whiny #MeToo students made Harvard a miserable place with the former President of Harvard’s texts to Epstein seeking advice on trying to date a student.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

This is a fascinating and very smart idea-- and the CBOX team offers a great model.
Universities spend gazillions on EdTech software that doesn’t serve faculty or student interests and often doesn’t work well. But what if we got off that path and leveraged internal resources to produce non-profit systems? Here’s a proposal to leverage the CUNY systems platforms.
"Christopher Newfield called for academics to 'seize the means of knowledge production' by working 'step by step ... toward direct control of universities.' ... I think the most imperative, but also the most apparent pressure point for academics looking to act upon his call is education technology."
