A best friend went way too soon at 41, but her cancer was terminal and she lived in a right to die state. Those of us invited to share her final days and farewell party understood our job was to be strong and our normal selves. She fiercely loved her family but only her father made the cut.

It makes me appreciate the series finales that DO meet or exceed the stakes they've established. Whether giving the story a satisfying send-off like Reservation Dogs, or pulling off a big unexpected finish like The Good Place.

Lying about who he was does not honor his family, because then they are exposed to painful truths that they might not have been aware of previously. His work did not involve good-faith debate or spirited discourse. He engaged in the demonization of innocents and was in opposition to civil rights.
