Today marks the beginning of Pain Awareness Week

For those of us with #fibromyalgia, this week is deeply personal. It’s not “just pain” it’s fatigue, brain fog & the daily fight with an invisible illness.

Let’s raise awareness & compassion. 💜

We can’t deny it: there is emotional pain.

We need better treatments that address the emotional and motivational components of pain.

Our new @NatureHumBehav paper shows why we need a holistic pain biomarker framework. ML on blood tests, brain/bone imaging & genetics predicts clinical diagnoses but falls short on subjective pain. Adding psychosocial (mood, sleep, stress) boosts both. shorturl.at/vxxeO
