I don’t know how much longer we can be expected to live alongside the lie that this is not exactly what it looks like: a violent siege, meant to destroy people. The lie makes it even more destructive.

What the United States government is letting Israel do to Gazans is monstrous. A grave crime against humanity. Shame on everyone who is enabling this.
🚨BREAKING: The last journalists working for AFP in Gaza have said they can no longer work for the news agency.

They are out of energy and they are starving to death.

I have never seen a statement from a news organisation like it.

The images of children starved to death in Gaza should be the lead of every news program.

can we please just have more book reviews instead of these weird pieces about whether or not straight white men can still read or publish novels

In libraries, we call this vocational awe. The idea that if you are invested in your calling, you should accept low wages/inhumane conditions is a nasty little trick of capitalism.

I’m an author, I’m hungry, I care deeply about my work, AND I deserve to be paid for it.
The "Starving artist" trope was started by ppl who didn't wanna pay artists (writers, painters, musicians, etc) & wanted it to seem a good thing. Artists suffering for art, starving artists, doing it for love only/shunning money - All myth turned folklore as reason to NOT FUCKING PAY US OUR DUE.

As someone who lives in Los Angeles, don’t let social or mainstream media gaslight you into thinking there’s a violent uprising taking place here. The Trump administration is trying to punish this state and this city. He’s also setting a precedent to unleash troops on Democratic cities.

Convo with my friend from Hungary tonight who left after Orban’s election.

She said “your head will spin with all the wild stuff they try to pull, new things every day, but don’t take your eyes off the money. It’s all about the money, and what they’re stealing, and for whom.”
