This is a genuinely positive piece from @andrewduffeu.bsky.social that shows a way forward for a struggling government.

Do have a read.

Quality article by @andrewduffeu.bsky.social on a royal commission on Brexit.

Essentially there are two chapters to this.

The first is addressing the effect of Brexit on the UK.

The major issue is the lack of an established truth that Brexit was a mistake in public and across WM.

Interesting article on new agreement on governance in Europe. The ultimate movement is towards the EP, if we're honest. That has implications for how the union operates (such as making EP elections more important).

A citizens’ assembly can be tacked on at the end. But specialists need to assemble the facts first and discard the nonsense. Something that was wholly lacking in 2016.

Except that most of those who supported Brexit were lying toads.

This is very much worth reading by @andrewduffeu.bsky.social . It is not 2016 anymore. The world has changed and so has the EU. Which means that Britain AND EU member States should review their experience of Brexit. verfassungsblog.de/the-case-for...

The EP and the Commission are revising a Framework Agreement governing their mutual relationship.

ANDREW DUFF concludes that better coordination between all the institutions would improve EU governance and bolster democratic legitimacy:

Yes, but. To make THE difference, close to the EU requires a UK budget contribution and acceptance of Freedom of Movement. Just a new customs union is good for cars but not much else. @libdems.org.uk need to get ahead of that curve. Come on boys! @calummillerld.bsky.social

If Starmer wants respect for the decision to recognise a Palestinian state, he must spell out what the Palestine authority must do next to isolate Hamas in a democratic election. He has not done this.

Holy shit!
