I liked it. I actually think the Alien stuff is only there because it has to be to get the studio to pay for it . I think Noah Hawley - who, after Legion and Fargo I trust to tell good stories- is actually interested in the story of Wendy and the other "lost boys".

Exactly this. Stop trying to define an ‘authentic’ masculinity, it doesn’t exist. The theorisation of gender happens in the service of the critique of gender/s, not in order to establish a taxonomy. (Incidentally, this is why essentialist transphobes calling themselves ‘gender critical’ is a joke.)
