Former BBC journalist and radio producer (for 30 years), now Bikeability cycling instructor in Lincolnshire. Give me a bike and a cask ale on a fabulous caravan site and I’m happy, even more happy if it’s in France.

A great week running a Bikeability course for Yr 5s in Gainsborough in Bike Week. So rewarding to see children who could barely ride on Monday become super confident riding on the road by the end of the week.

I’ve never seen these “two stage turns”, but the descriptions in this article look like they’re a slow, complicated nightmare. Just wondering whether the people who design these things ever actually ride them to test them out??
Our industrious expert Campaigns & Policy Team have been at it again; compiling this evidence-based and expansive Guide to Two-Stage Turns. They're a common city infra feature which we really don't recommend for #InclusiveCycling #ActiveTravel! Find out why: wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/wheels-for-w...

To be fair, it also applies to cyclists passing pedestrians but would be a useful exercise for some of the car drivers who have close passed me recently

I need to ride on this. Just shows what can be done when the will is there.
The Hovenring is Eindhoven's spectacular circular cycling bridge.

With its impressive pylon, 72 metre diameter, thin deck and conspicuous lighting, the suspended roundabout is a landmark for the city.

Love #Deathinparadise but so disappointed by the new series. The whole point of it is that it’s supposed to be funny. Nothing made me smile at all. Where has all the humour gone? Much prefer the Australian version now. ☹️

This was such a poor BBC Panorama. Completely mixed up electric bikes with illegal electric motorbikes. Good to see the industry standing up for itself. road.cc/content/news...
Bicycle Association formally complains to BBC over Adrian Chiles’ e-bike Panorama “misrepresentation”, claiming episode “unjustifiably damaged” legal e-bike industry
The cycle industry organisation said the programme conflated e-bikes with “illegal e-motorbikes”, lacked balance, and “failed to properly inform the public”
