Apparently ICE agents have made it to Brevard, NC (just outside of Asheville). My friend was just harassed by them. They were in unmarked cars and in the ICE gear. He was told to get out of the car and he refused.

As a North Carolinian, as awesome as what Charlotte did is, the problem is that ICE just drove from there to Raleigh/Durham. This weekend they are in Buncombe County (Hickory/Lenoir) and already doing operations there. Next is Burke County, Statesville, then Asheville. They are not stopping.

Great article re: the value of fare free buses. Ridership in Iowa City "surpassed pre-pandemic levels by 18 percent." By combining fare free with frequent, all-day service in high density areas @dashbusva.bsky.social ridership was 40% higher in 2024 than in 2019!
