It's that time of year again. I'm trying not to use Amazon, and I've deleted my meta accounts, so my reach is limited. But any help getting some books for my amazing fourth graders, some of whom I also had in kindergarten, is appreciated.

Not really. I've seen Armageddon, if that counts, but not Star Trek or anything like that. I didn't grow up watching movies—my family didn't have cable or a VCR until I was in high school (1990ish), and we never went to the movies. The first movie I remember seeing in the theater was Pretty Woman.

It's fine. A few lines are rolling around in my head. I'm also over dis tracks; when you are TS, you are always punching down, which feels gross. The 10 different versions of the exact same thing is capitalistic grossness too.

I'll add a few to my playlists, but I won't seek most of them out.

We've finished the first month of school. Of course there have been ups and downs, but I can feel a good year forming. We have new admin, and that is making a big difference.

It's like high-waisted jeans with a shirt tucked in. 99% people look ridiculous, but I think I can be part of the 1%. (I can't.)

And really, it doesn't matter what I think. If you think you look good, you should rock it.

I'm no help. I think most of the time, the front tuck looks like they caught their shirt in their pants after going to the bathroom. Which I realize makes me sound like an old fuddy duddy. (Which I just made worse by using the term fuddy duddy.)

I have not seen the video, and will try to avoid it, but I agree. I likely dont agree with a single thing he stood for. But no one deserves to be gunned down.

We have to do better as humans. The flag at half mast at my school really pissed me off though.

And the thing is, if they didn’t believe that bullshit, and treated women like humans, they could have very good sex. With a person who has autonomy and thoughts. But they’d rather be mad than be decent humans.
