Truth
The only time I ever cut class was to go to a Yo-Yo Ma masterclass (yes I did get in trouble for this) and this is completely accurate
I've been fortunate enough to see Yo-Yo Ma in a pretty small venue and all I can say, without hyperbole, is that there's an actual aura or energy that surrounds his performance and craft that's transcendent; it's an actual spiritual experience.

This is magnificent and Mayor Wu is no slouch!

One simple way to make sense of this wacky week is as a reminder that no man is all-powerful in our country, no matter what he may want you to think.

We still have a democracy until we don't.

This. I may have moved up professionally but relationship wise I feel stuck
Without breaking confidences, many of them noted how deeply this affected their lives -- driving them out of chosen fields of study, or just traumatizing them as they continued to navigate a male-dominated world, and their own relationships. Even if they escaped the worst, a psychic meat grinder.,

i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

I don’t know why people are expressing surprise that no male journalist came to the aid of the female journalist.

In my experience men simply do not come to the aid of women in situations like this. They just don’t.

So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

We're like five generations into modern feminism and women still have to assume that when you ask a colleague for feedback on a project, there's a good chance that he and a sex criminal will snigger about how it's evidence that you want his dick

Also they have made up a racist nickname for you

If women are underrepresented in STEM, it's at least partly because men like this offer mentoring, then embarrass themselves by assuming their mentees must be into them, then decide the best solution is to cut ties, which sends the signal to other faculty that the mentee must not be good enough.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

Gross. Speaking from experience she probably wanted to be left alone or be mentored like male students, not hit on. Why are men.

Remember when Senate Republicans led by Josh Hawley tried to go after then-Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson in her confirmation hearing by … claiming (falsely) that she had been "too easy" on child sex offenders when she served as a district court judge?
