I’ve been dreaming of getting a row in the Rio Grande Community Farm garden. I wasn’t the only visitor this morning.
I love sandhill cranes but, if our chickens are any indication, cranes might be kinda tough on a veggie plot. 😁

Fire retardant is a secret sauce.
🔥☠️

“It’s not in our interest to share product with public or private agencies,” Jurasek said at the time. “You are not the first person to ask for us to give them fire retardant. It happens. It’s not something we do.”

Heavy metals are turning up in💧wells across the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon fire area. 🔥

Antimony in 93% of wells.
Could fire retardant be the source?

The ONE paper characterizing heavy metals in firefighting products suggests that’s the case.

#HPCC #NewMexico #groundwater #contamination
“Eleven metals were found at elevated levels in groundwater samples from private wells, including three — antimony, arsenic and uranium — at levels above U.S. Environmental Protection Agency drinking water standards, and one, manganese, above an EPA lifetime health advisory.”
