There needs to be trials and there needs to be people sent to die in a prison cell. Consequences must fall on the people who issued the orders and those who carried them out. We must make the punishment of these people a national spectacle that will be remembered for generations.

Love how file sharing was framed as stealing but a comparable situation where the only meaningful difference is that tech industrialists get rich is not supposed to be stealing.

I think a new bar should be set in presenting the history of multi-year tournament events, not necessarily just on the players that are well remembered, but the communities that propped up each year's individual successes. Not sure what that looks like yet.

I think its ironic and difficult that I think about this stuff so often but, like everyone else, feel caught up in the cycle of building new things for our generation because its the engine that drives growth in the here and now. But sometimes I just want to read old scrolls and peruse albums.

One curious thing on this site about speaking out against the encroachment of LLMs is that inevitably you get accused of being anti-tech. I don’t hate technology. I’ve used machine learning in my own code before. But I also recognize that oligarchs are so hellbent on pushing this tech for a reason.
