Youth are impulsive & their brains are not fully developed. Black & Brown youth deserve to be supported, not adultified & punished

Rogers Park and surrounding neighborhoods were hit hard by immigration enforcement activity over the weekend.

There's no competition here, but I want to name that the same heavy, violent, fast-moving abduction pattern has invaded the southwest side about three times a week for over a month now.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

When they learned ICE was using alleys people in Rogers Park started blocking the alleys with dumpsters. People parked their cars in the middle of alleys.

Pleasant day out in my neighborhood in Chicago. There was a farmer’s market and people are out strolling, chatting, and sitting out on porches. Just like every weekend.

So the teargas being deployed in Chicagoland and it’s consequences are *well-known* at this point

So if it’s not the slow violence of tear-gas in your body or the asthma attacks from Env racism it might be the state violence of being forcibly disappeared by masked, untrained and armed men
