Almost 2 weeks ago I had to help my cat Atlas cross over into the next life. He was 16, and in great shape for his age, until he suddenly wasn’t. I’m grateful that his decline wasn’t more prolonged, but I am still devastated. I feel completely lost without my best buddy 💔

The East Wing was built in 1902 & rebuilt in 1942, long after asbestos was used as a fire retardant. So, I’m sure the White House took steps to prevent a known carcinogen from entering the air during the current willy-nilly demolition.

Republicans say they care about federal workers, but today they blocked my bill to pay ALL federal workers, servicemembers, and contractors and stop Trump’s illegal firings.

I hope they’ll join us to get our public servants paid — but not in a way that lets Trump turn around and fire them anyway.

My bill would pay ALL federal workers during the shutdown. Republicans blocked it.

I'm not any kind of U.S. history buff, I don't know much about architecture and I've never given a lot of thought to historical preservation. But still, I find these images of the East Wing demolition to be viscerally gutting. I'm guessing a lot of other Americans are equally horrified.
