I think one of the challenges of AI discourse is that many people have not yet felt or seen the consequences of overusing water and electricity, and so everybody pointing out that queries use a ton of both means nothing to them. Yet.

Generative ai is overall a scheme and a curse, it is providing disinformation, terrible "art" and, in cases, helping people commit suicide

Generative ai is doing none of that and that's the kind we are talking about. Chat GTP, Open AI and others like that are not doing those things

And the "accessibility" is really very hit or miss, none of the disability activists I have followed have Ever mentioned it positively

But the thing is, we don’t want to get to the point of massive consequences bc it’s going to suck for absolutely everybody…and it’s going to, of course, hit poorer communities, black communities, and communities of color first (as many have already seen with data centers).

She had never heard of Palestine before 1970.

To learn that this fantasy of a place had not been empty, and that there were people there that had nothing to do with the persecution we’d experienced as European Jews, and to learn that their villages were being razed and annihilated, and they had nowhere to go… A lot of these things, the first time I learned it was from the Palestinians that hijacked us.”

Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
