I see a lot of new faces these days. Hi!

Allow me to briefly introduce myself: I research the forces that shape digital #journalism (tech/biz/data/etc). I have a book on #podcasting coming out. On this platform, I am mainly professional, but I might sometimes post about running or pop culture.

Decided this year to invest more in time for music. This week I’m spending time with this, one of the most perfect albums ever made. Peak ‘90s, and lyrically it’s surprisingly still relevant in troubled times.

In case you missed it.

(Also: Largo from Xerxes, by J. F. Händel, is absolutely beautiful.)

FWIW, many institutions _have_ made the jump; I've been loosely maintaining this spreadsheet to track them across migration waves.

That includes The Guardian, NPR, Le Monde, and many others.

There is obviously some quite disturbing images in this video. But it is a good piece of journalism that lays out what actually happened.
Forensic analysis of objective video evidence. This is how you serve readers searching for clarity.

Yet another example of how the New York Times strives for the most neutral language possible--and in doing so presents a skewed picture of reality. "The Party was at odds with the rules of math when it suggested two plus two equals five."
At odds, you can say it … because Noem is lying as ICE murders US citizens.

The latest from YouGov (n ~ 2.2k): No one's buying this Greenland shit. Trump loses virtually everyone on the threat of force. He barely gets *half of Republicans* on "purchasing" Greenland.

"Trump’s is an unpatriotic, un-American movement. He doesn’t get a pass for that just because we live in a two-party system. If we are going to be honest in our reporting about politics today, we have to be able to say this clearly."

If you don't already follow Morris, now is a good time to start.
if we can't clearly say that a party whitewashing a coup is anti-democratic and un-American, then we've truly lost the plot
Pardon my coup
Accurate political journalism requires a bias toward democracy

Lest we forget.
A reminder - before Trump, MAGA, Musk and Fox rewrote history - that this is what the entire country agreed had happened five years ago today:

Det är verkligen absurt att svenska politiker fortfarande använder X.
One example of how Grok is being used to target women. Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch being sexualised, degraded, and humiliated step-by-step by Grok. All the images accurately reflect the prompts provided.

A secret of investigative reporting is that you often get entire stories out of the dumb stuff: people who redact wrong, people who leave their Venmo on public, people who accidentally cc you on the email to their lawyers, people who put you in the bombing group chat, etc
I mean yeah it’s an authoritarian takeover but can we take some comfort in the fact that the people doing it are INSANELY stupid?
