If it weren't for renting classic Godzilla VHSes, along with Power Rangers, Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, and Attack of the Super Monsters when I was a kid, I never would've gotten into tokusatsu.

One VHS I rented over and over was for "Attack of the Super Monsters", which I wouldn't learn until decades later was actually a dubbed compilation of episodes from a Japanese series called "Dinosaur War Izenborg", from the same company that made Ultraman. 9-year-old me ate that shit up.

One of my fondest memories as a kid was going to the video store and renting out all the old Godzilla VHSes with the wacky box art, some of which didn't accurately reflect the movie at all, with a couple N64 games on the side. Good times.

Ludicrous take to say nobody misses the video store. Going to my local video store as a teenager was so fucking good. They had a five movies for five days for five dollars deal that was pretty much the greatest thing ever and a super stoned clerk who had seen every movie known to man

I use the way people treat service workers as a litmus test. I make no exceptions for anyone who fails this test. Same goes for the way people treat animals, actually.

If you have impunity to be cruel to other people or animals, and you use it, I view that as an extreme moral failing.

Sonic’s story is literally about a mad villain turning creatures into slave robots against their will, and fighting back against that plight by using speed, wit, sarcasm, teamwork, and magical objects to free those creatures against overwhelming odds.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if they just kept making and refining the SA1 & 2 gameplay, Sonic would've never dipped below 8/10s and could've even pulled higher. This alone looks like a glimpse of a better timeline.

But gamifying negativity is RIGHT behind it. Hell, some days, it feels even worse.
