something i haven't seen or heard anybody talk about with age assurance tooling, is whether some future standard that is globally available can be designed to prevent threats to state sovereignty and political status through misuse as a social and economic sanction if a state rejects foreign values.

man i can't wait for W3C to finish cooking up a decent age assurance system that works anywhere a browser does only for 18 US states to go full-frontal-moron and design their own and refuse to accept anybody else's without a hand job under the desk. i mean interstate compact.

there is no trustworthy provider for this. not one. not even apple has an answer yet, and when they do, it will be very good but not perfect and only work in apple land.
