Re: “Why are kids getting into retro tech?” I don’t know about anyone else but I find a lot of modern devices to be stressful to interact with. They’re capable of too much, are too connected to everything around them, are too fragile, etc. It’s like way too much software

This is so real. Back in the late 00s/early 2010s I was doing a lot of cosplay photography and I fell into the 2010s grindset mentality. I became so focussed on building a brand for myself, to become popular, that it sucked away all my joy. I stopped taking photos and only recently started again

I've been asked before by newer/younger artists about how to get popular or meet other artists.
My answer is "please do not make popularity your focus when creating art." It's going to leave you frustrated and feeling empty when you create artwork. It'll suck the fun out of it.
