It depends I am an emotionally driven person if it’s something dear to me or has a memories attached I’m keeping it.
I'm not the best person to ask because while I LOVE stuff, I also assume I can always get more or different or better and don't mind (within reason) re-homing purchases. Plus I'm broke.

This feels threatening to me. I feel like the underlying warning is that if we don’t make sure that white people are allowed to stay in their delusion, they will give up and let the worst happen. They *need* to be able to pretend like they can get back to a certain standard or they feel hopeless.

The American experience is very different based on race, gender, and socioeconomic class. When people romanticize it tells me a lot about them 😭
