I am opposed to rerouting the 72 bus via Victoria Airport in our current transit funding landscape. If we had more funding, and it was part an expansion, I would be enthusiastic. But it will result in making a long and painful journey for commuters and locals even longer for air travel convenience.
My job is to make music.

To be frank, I suck at it. But knowing my job is not just to be creative but to help others develop the skills they can use to also be creative... That's the point.

I'm no Hendrix or Lennon. I just know how to squish the piano keys the right way to get some melodies.
I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

I'm not just saying this because I'm biased towards Victoria - I genuinely think this is one of their best videos yet. Very polished, a good number of interviews with relevant voices, a good visual diversity of what you explored.

Worth a watch. #yyjbike

Hear me out maybe we should make it a crime to breed dogs that INTENTIONALLY ARE SO DEFORMED THEY CAN'T BREATH.

Anyways thanks for listening, I'll be here all week.

Today we rode downtown to check out the Gingerbread House display at the Grand Pacific downtown. While I enjoyed the gingerbread houses, the only photo I took was of the hilariously bike rack at the hotel. Not attacked to the ground, neither my cargo bike nor partner's conventional fit. #yyjbike

Kind of getting tired of "builder/maker" YouTube personalities shitting on solar power. It's not 2005 anymore. We know it works. We know it scale. We know it's reliable and competitive.

Are there issues? Yes. The solution is to solve the problems, not give up and shill for oil.

Meanwhile nothing about the 1000lb animals actually covering regional trails in mountains of shit with zero repercussions.
Some Boomer on Facebook is accusing cyclists of pooping on trails, so that's a new one.

I know CBC isn't officially on BlueSky but recently I've lost all faith in their journalistic integrity. From inviting Kevin O'Leary to explain why Canada should be annexed by the USA, to declaring the solution to traffic congestion is AI, it seems like they are basically putting zero effort in.
UMMM: "CBC News asked ChatGPT whether Newfoundland could be seen from Cape Breton. The answer was "generally no," but the artificial intelligence chatbot said in theory Newfoundland can be "barely visible" under perfect atmospheric conditions from very high points.

Canada desperately needs to develop its own vehicular safety standards and block entry for noncompliant vehicles.

Many of you already know, but for those who don’t,
I’m running for Victoria city council!
Thanks to everyone who came out to my campaign launch, it was great to see so many friendly faces.

Yeah okay so the @bcndpcaucus.bsky.social is still gleefully helping forestry companies destroy our old-growth rainforests.

Fairy Creek was well reported. Nothing else since has been.

E-Scooters are not toys, and there are rules and regulations regarding their use in North Vancouver. All parents and riders should refer to this helpful infographic from North Vancouver RCMP and help keep our kids and streets safe.

Yes thank you for funneling pedestrians into the bike lane for these four feet in particular so you can park your roller compactor on that specific patch of concrete. Very cool.

This shouldn't be an optional thing. If you fuck up production to the point of it being hazardous to consumers, it should be obligatory that you use literally every penny you have to remedy it.
The importer, Rad Power Bikes Inc., of Seattle, Washington has refused to agree to an acceptable recall. Given its financial situation, Rad Power Bikes has indicated to CPSC that it is unable to offer replacement batteries or refunds to all consumers.

Every time someone says we need to ban eBikes because some kid got hurt using one, they basically are yelling loud and clear that they don't care about actual safety. Period.
If "they're unsafe" is sufficient reason to "ban them" then goodbye cars/trucks/SUVs on neighbourhood streets! I ride an e-scooter daily, which (along with my bike, transit, etc) allows me to get around without owning a car. By far the most significant danger involved is the risk of cars hitting me!

People speak English with different accents. We don't declare it "wrong." Yet if you say "arrêt" with even a hint of an English accent you are told off in a million ways.

Why is English the only language that is acceptable to speak with accents? I think diverse accents make a language beautiful.

"Mark Carney's a guy who's been getting a chauffeur into work for the last two decades... It's not a stretch to say he's out of touch."

This is why I fucking hate that so many Canadians went "ah, he's a breath of fresh air that knows how reality works!" Carney is a delusional wealthy white banker.
